We sing for our enjoyment, not for performance, in a non-worship setting, from "The Sacred harp," an old traditional shape note hymnal, in continuous publication since 1844. This style of singing is an old tradition, once used primarily in rural southern churches, but now found around the globe, featuring wonderful harmonies and poetry. This style of singing can be seen in the film "Cold Mountain" and features powerful harmonies and open fifths, with each part having its own unique melody. (1st and 3rd Tuesdays) (more)

Ordo Sakhna is a Kyrgyz folk music performance group which introduces the epic nomadic civilization of Central Asia to audiences worldwide. The musicians display the beauty, color and diversity of many authentic Kyrgyz instruments and dress styles while performing traditional Kyrgyz music. The ten person ensemble presents a repertoire of ancient-traditional melodies and dastans (short sections of epics) which have been passed through generations for many centuries. Doors open at 7 pm.
