Our free community meal program is entering into its 14th year after serving 6,635 meals in 2010. Tim Eriksen is "widely regarded as the best ballad singer of his generation" (BBC Radio). Once a year, musicians and recording artists from the Wepecket Island Records label tour the nation together, performing in concert halls, churches, houses, libraries, taverns and coffeehouses. Members of the troupe hop on and off the "train," but the company maintains a corps of at least four and as many as nine performers who gleefully spread the word and song of America's history, ending each show with a participatory audience jam session and sing-around. Tim was born and raised in SW Michigan. As a young boy he was greatly influenced by two of his uncles who played flamenco guitar. He would listen for hours as they played the old Spanish ballads from Puerto Rico. His uncle gave him a guitar at 13 years old and Tim was hooked. He is known for his 70's & 80's style and features the music of artists like: Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, America, Poco, Eagles, Jimmy Buffet, Cat Stevens, CSNY, Van Morrison, Jim Croce, John Denver and Paul Simon.

As we archive the technological/historical progress of humanity onto the internet we have created a "technosphere" which is wrapping our planet with a massive amount of cyber-material, information and thoughts. Julian Lauzzana pulls files from our collective archive and does live mixing/layering of visuals on a projected screen with a blending of electronic and live acoustic sound. Wisaal- an Arabic word meaning links, connections, or unities- reflects an attempt to fuse elements of Arabic musical heritage with Klezmer, Indian, and American influences while respecting the spirit of these traditions. Classical Arabic pieces become frameworks within which traditional Arabic forms and rhythmic patterns blend with Western harmonic backgrounds and rhythmically charged pop and world-music grooves.
