Meet on Hines Dr. in the lot across from Nankin Mills: Go past the barricade at Ann Arbor Trail to the 1st drive on the R. We will ride E on Hines (closed to traffic) and back-about 12 miles, then ride W (NOT closed to traffic) and back, another 12 miles (25 total) at 12-14mph. If you prefer not to ride with traffic, you can redo the first section. Bring your required helmet, water, snacks and a picnic lunch for after the ride. Meet at 9:45am; ride begins at 10am. Deer Hunting Season is coming soon, so I think it would be good timing to walk the woods, and make sure the resident deer herd is informed that it is safe to stay in Heritage Park. 4 hilly miles, at moderate pace. We will stop for Rouge River views, and enjoy the fall colors on the nature trails. Meet in Farmington Hills Heritage Park in the visitor center lot. Turn west off of Farmington Rd. This rugged trail follows the ridge along the Au Sable River near the town of Arkona. 1 hour drive east of the Blue Water Bridge in Pt. Huron. Participants should be experienced hikers. Everyone knows about the hilly trails in Holly we will take the longer trails, for a 8? mile hike around lakes, and through woods. The leaves will be deep and crunchy, so our progress will probably scare wildlife away. But we are likely to see deer. Bring lunch and beverage, there will be a high overlook of the lake halfway for a rest and lunch stop. Meet in Bloomfield Twp. behind the CVS pharmacy on the S.E. corner of Woodward & Square Lake Rd. This advanced hike is 9.3 miles long, hilly, wooded, full of lakes and streams. Bring a BIG trail lunch and LOTS of water, clothing layers for the weather.
