8:00 am	MSU Community Music School Jazz Camp This residential camp is for middle and high school students, with intermediate and advanced playing experience on their instruments. The program focuses on jazz orchestra and small groups, exposing participants to the many arrangements and composition styles used in jazz. Students will learn applied theory, sight-reading and improvisation. Students stay in residence halls and eat in the cafeterias, getting a firsthand look at college life. Camp will be held June 16-21, 8 am - 10 pm All registrants must complete and submit an audition CD. Your application will not be complete unless the recording is received. 9:00 am	MSU Community Music School Rock Camp Rock Camp is a day camp for middle and high school students who have some experience playing their instruments (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard or vocals). Bands will be coached by members of The Outer Vibe. At camp, students will form and work in their own bands based on musical interest and skill level. This five-day camp meets in the Music Building on the MSU campus, and provides students with an opportunity to perform with other talented students, receive class instruction in instrumental technique, and explore music through musicianship classes. Campers in grades 9-12 will spend the full two weeks developing skills including solo and ensemble voice development, choreography, and prop design, while focusing on healthy singing using musical theatre repertoire.
