The Clinton County Department of Waste Management will again conduct the annual Books & More! Events which will be held on March 24 in St. Johns and March 25 in DeWitt Township. Collected for reuse and recycling include: books, magazines, phone books, reusable and non-usable clothing and textiles, and reusable household items and building materials. Library groups will be on-site to sort books for reuse. For more information call 989-224-5186 or email conserve@clinton-county.org. Items will be accepted during only during the times listed.

Saturday April 24, 2010- 8:00 am Clinton County Clean Community Event
Items accepted for reuse, recycling or proper disposal: household hazardous waste, farm and landscaping chemicals, motor oil and antifreeze, unwanted and expired medications, electronic waste, junk items, scrap metal, appliances, tires, yard waste, clothing, textiles and reusable household items and building equipment. Fees apply for a few items, most items are free. Fees are waived for volunteers! Saturday May 1, 2010 Saturday June 5, 2010- 8:00 am East Lansing Project Pride Reuse and Recycling Event
Project Pride is a spring clean-up and recycling event geared toward helping East Lansing residents clean-up and their homes and yards by recycling, or donating for reuse, common household items. Items collected include bicycles, electronics, scrap metal, styrofoam, athletic shoes, cardboard, wood waste and much more. The event is free, but some items require disposal fees to cover disposal costs. The event is open to East Lansing residents only.
