  We sing for our enjoyment, not for performance, in a non-worship setting, from "The Sacred harp," an old traditional shape note hymnal, in continuous publication since 1844. This style of singing is an old tradition, once used primarily in rural southern churches, but now found around the globe, featuring wonderful harmonies and poetry. This style of singing can be seen in the film "Cold Mountain" and features discordant harmonies and open fifths, with each part having its own unique melody.

  Fiddler Eileen Ivers has established herself as the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today. It is a rare and select grade of artists whose work is so boldly imaginative and clearly virtuosic that it alters the medium, while respectfully exploring the traditions and progression of the Celtic fiddle. Her performances and recordings continue to display why Ivers is called a "sensation" by Billboard magazine and "the Jimi Hendrix of the violin" by The New York Times.
