Elizabeth grew up in Rural Retreat, Virginia surrounded by the ballads and old-time songs of the Appalachians. She sings these songs the way their ancestors might have sung them - you can feel the warmth and emotion in her stories - and poetry in the songs. She was very well received at East Lansing's Great Lakes Folk Festival - we're proud to have her back in town! As a special treat, Elizabeth will be joined by her mother Sandy, adding her lovely vocal harmonies to some of the songs.
